Delhi: A teenager desperate to get a break in Bollywood under director Mahesh Bhatt stole a motorcycle to get Rs 20,000 which he needed to make his dream come true but was caught and put behind bars by the Delhi police.

The  Anti Auto Theft Squad of the police arrested the 16-year-old after he was caught riding the stolen motorcycle, a Honda Passion, which he planned to sell to fulfill his ambitions of making it big in Bollywood.

According to the police, Harman (name changed), a resident of Ram Nagar in Shahadra, had left for Mumbai to become an actor last month soon after passing high school.  He has heard that director Mahesh Bhatt often gave breaks to youngsters wanting to join the film industry. "Herman is a bollywood freak.

He went to Mahesh Bhatt's office in Mumbai. He was rejected but later someone told him to get Rs. 20,000," a police official said. Harman was told that his screen test would be taken only after he arranged the money, the official said.

A dejected Harman returned to Delhi. However, he told the story to one of his neighbours Praveen. "Praveen allegedly told him that the easiest way to get the money would be to steal. Harman then stole a motor bike from Mansarovar Park and had plans to sell it off to organize the money," added the police official.

On July 12, when he was riding the stolen Honda, he was caught by the police near the LPG godown in Gokulpuri town. During interrogation, he confessed to his crime, the police said.
