Student molested: The police inspect the Primary MCD School at Ashok Vihar Phase III |
The accused also tried to rape two other students who were with the victim,
however, they managed to escape and reported the matter to the principal of the school.
According to the police, while going to toilet at around 11:20 am, the students were overpowered by the two who had jumped into their compound from the nearby park.
Principal's stand
When the matter was brought before the principal Neelam Brij, she tried to bury the matter. She sent the victim to a private nursing home, terming the incident as an accident.
"My sister, Priya (name changed) could not run away," victim's brother Deepak said.
Shankar Lal, father of Priya, alleged that Brij wanted to cover up the incident. Lal said, "Rather than informing the police, the principal threatened the students to stay silent."
Deepak said, "The principal said it is not a big matter. She had also asked all the students not to talk about the incident. She took Priya to a private nursing home and told my mother that we should not report the matter to the police."
Police case
Priya's father said, "The staff at the nursing home refused to admit my daughter saying that it was a police case. When we saw blood dripping from her private parts, then only we realised what had happened and lodged a police complaint."
Priya was taken to Jag Jivan Ram hospital, where doctors confirmed rape.
Protest
Following the incident, the locals and relatives of the victim and other two girls assembled in front of the police station and protested against the police demanding the arrest of the rapists.
"We have registered a case. Further investigation is going on," NS Bundela, DCP (North West) said.
Earlier, there were three incidents of student's molestation within the school premises by the local goons.
