Gurgaon: The owner of a private school here has been arrested for illegally storing 780 foreign liquor bottles worth Rs 15 lakh in the school premises in Binola village. Starex International School owner Sunil Bharadwaj was granted bail immediately after he paid a fine of Rs 3.25 lakh.

All confiscated bottles will be destroyed as per the policy of the department. Starex Import Export India Private Limited, a sister concern of the school, earlier had a licence to import foreign liquor, sources said. The company had a godown in Delhi, but its licence expired in 2006. The stocks were then transferred to the school in Gurgaon.
