A Roman Catholic priest from Poland has been indicted on charges he fondled a 16-year-old girl while aboard a flight to New Jersey.


The Rev Tomasz Adam Zielinski could face up to two years in federal prison if convicted on the charge of abusive sexual contact.


The incident took place aboard LOT Polish Airlines Flight 15 bound for Newark.


The FBI says the girl, who was seated next to him, alerted the flight crew after the incident and was given a new seat.


The FBI says Zielinski then approached her and asked forgiveness.


He remains free on a USD 10,000 (Rs 427,000) bond, but was ordered to have no contact with minors.
