Ahmedabad:
Journalists protest the attack on the media by the supporters of Asaram Bapu
About 100 media persons who took out a protest rally against the attack on journalists by supporters of religious guru Asaram Bapu yesterday were stopped by the police and detained.

They were condemning the attack on journalists during the shutdown in the city over the mysterious death of two boys studying in the Asaram-run school.

"Bapu supporters attacked us with sticks. I was also injured," Gopi Ghangar, a correspondent of Hindi news channel Aaj Tak, had said on Friday. The bodies of the two cousins, Abhishek (11) and Dipesh Vaghela (10), were found on July 5 on the banks of Sabarmati river near the Ashram. Their family members alleged that the two were murdered.
