2 killed, 7 injured in road accidents

Delhi: Two people were killed and seven others injured in separate road accidents in the city during the last 48 hours.

A blueline bus crushed a  21-year-old woman in Patel Nagar yesterday. The incident took place at around 10.30 pm last night in Baljeet Nagar when Seema, fell off while deboarding the bus plying between Anand Vihar and Hari Nagar.

The police said the driver did not stop properly and accelerated before Seema got down.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. "We have arrested the driver of the bus, and registered a case of rash and negligent driving against him," the police added.

In another accident, a 60-year-old woman came under the wheels of the blueline busplying between Anand Vihar and Jahangirpuri after she fell off from the footboard of the bus on Sunday. The police said the incident occurred at around 12.30 pm at Mandawali crossing.

Victim Laungwati, a resident of Ashok Vihar, had come to meet a relative along with her husband Ved Ram in Nand Nagri when she met with the mishap.

"We have arrested the driver of the bus, impounded the vehicle and registered a case against the driver," said a police official.

Seven people were injured when a Honda city car rammed into a tempo near Tagore Garden area late last night.

The injured, all of them labourers, were returning after work in a tempo when the car coming out from wrong side hit the tempo from side.

The driver of the tempo lost control and went on to hit the pavement. The tempo over turned injuring the passengers, including two women.
