Delhi: The process for allotment of flats in 58 co-operative group housing societies (CGHS), which were given a clean chit by Central Bureau Of Ivestigation in the housing scam, is likely to begin soon, the Registrar Co-operative Society (RCS) today submitted before the Delhi High Court.
The RCS said it planned to put out advertisements inviting officials of these 58 group housing societies to contact it for starting the allotment process.
Objections invited
Appearing for RCS, its counsel told a Division Bench headed by Justice Manmohan Sarin that it would also invite objections from the housing societies, if they have any.
For verification of the identity of the original members of these societies, the members would be advised to either contact the RCS or their respective societies, the court was told.
Time sought
Seeking three months' time to complete the process, the counsel said that the RCS would take a final decision for allotment of flats after obtaining objections from societies.
Proposal accepted
The court is yet to give its nod over the proposal. However, the amicus curiae (friend of court) and the members of a committee set up to formulate modalities for allotment, have accepted the proposal.
Members shifted
Earlier, the Registrar had stated that it faced difficulty in verification of the original members of various group housing societies as many of them by now shifted their residences.
Housing scam
Some housing societies, mostly in Dwaraka area, were under the court's scanner following an expose of the housing scam in the city involving a former Registrar Co-operative Society official N Diwakar in 2005.
