Trust vote tamasha on idiot box
By: MiD DAY Correspondent

Delhi:

With the Manmohan Singh government facing a trust vote in the Parliament, dinner diplomacy, closed door meetings and briefings, have formed the prime time stuff on all news channels.

Each channel has its own set of experts and secret 'highly placed' sources and there is no dearth of theories on whether the government would survive the floor test or not. On Monday, 24 hours before the voting, Star News was showing 265 MPs were backing the deal.

CNN IBN's 'big vote' on Sunday was dominated by dinner diplomacy of Manmohan Singh with Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi and  Arun Jaitely slugging it out. NDTV, in its programme '123 And counting', showed UPA's claim of having support of 282 MPs.
Times Now predicted that 269 MPs will vote in favour of government, 267 MPs against it while three as undecided.

Delhi speaks

The younger lot in Delhi have virtually no clue or inclination about the nuclear deal

It must be signed. Once India signs the deal, it will get the power to produce nuclear energy, which is very important. Nuclear energy will help to solve the future problems.

Till now there are five superpowers of the world. Once India signs this n-deal, India will become the 6th superpower of the country. Apart from that there are other many benefits of signing this deal

I want the govt to fall tomorrow. If India and US sings n-deal, India will not be able to conduct the nuclear test in future, which is bad. So I don't want India to sign this deal

I will vote against the govt. It has performed miserably in the past. N-deal is a very good deal. This is what I have heard from all the experts. But they never explain what is this deal.

The consumption of the electricity will also rise and so will be the cost. Once India signs the nuclear deal it will be able to generate electricity at a very low cost so the deal must be signed.

The govt should stay and complete its tenure. I wish the govt all the best for tomorrow. Once we sign the deal, we will be able to manufacture nuclear weapons without any complexities and will be at par with the US.

Anuj

The govt is really doing well at the centre. I want the govt to stay. Till now I thought that it was 'End-deal'. I think the deal is in some way or the other related to the increase in the prices of commodities
