Sania Mirza and her partner Bethanie Mattek stormed into the quarterfinals of the $600,000 East West Bank Classic tournament.
They defeated Vania King and Alla Kudryavtseva in straight sets at Los Angeles.
The Indo-American pair faced the American-Russian duo 6-3 6-4 in the first round of the event.
They next face the Russian pair of Elena Versina and Vera Zvonareva, who beat American wild card entries Tracy Lin and Riza Zalameda.
Sania won her singles first round match yesterday against Eva Hardinova in straight sets.
She is now up against Chinese Meng Yuan in the second round.
