New Delhi: Indian weightlifting continues to be mired in doping controversies with another lifter being caught for using a banned steroid, the third such instance in four months.

Punjab lifter Harpreet Singh (85kg), who is now training at the Army Sports Institute (ASI) in Pune for Commonwealth Youth Games, has returned positive test for steroid nandrolone in the samples collected by the SAI laboratory here.

"Random samples were collected from the lifters who were training at ASI and after tests at SAI laboratory Harpreet Singh has been found positive for nandrolone," a top SAI source told PTI.
