.: EVEN as a team of anti-terror experts from Mumbai are heading to assist the local police in Bangalore, questions are being raised whether yesterday's blasts was a Red Herring.
Investigators are beginning to question as to why the bombers used low intensity explosives. They believe the militants could be planning yet another major attack and yesterday's blasts were to mislead the police.
Anti-terror experts believe the bombers took pains to put the explosive and the devices in place. However, they wonder why Ammonia Nitrate or RDX was not used.
The police believes that the militants usually do not take such high risk during dry runs. In yesterday's case, they have taken a risk without using high explosives.
According to senior police officials, the needle of suspicion leading to the Bangalore blasts points to few educated recruits in and around Bangalore. Most of them are enrolled in medical and engineering faculties in local institutes.
These startling facts came to light after SIMI chief Safdar Nagori's recent confessions. He and his key associate Naser were subjected to Narco-analysis last month after they were remanded to the custody of Mumbai ATS.
Extracts from the transcript points to a meeting of Nagori group that was held in the forest areas near Belgaum district a little before he was arrested. Around 20 students from Karnataka attended the meeting.
