The scene after the results of the Mumbai School Sports Association elections was not something you would normally expect. Both parties were sedate keeping their jubilation and agony to themselves.
Out of the 303 voters, 234 voted across 23 categories amounting to 5382 votes.
Reigning President Fr Jude Rodrigues garnered a total of 135 against former football secretary Ashok Lohar who got 99 votes. "I expected the win. My fingers were crossed for the rest of my party members, however, because I didn't know their fate. A lot of new people have come in this year so there is some new blood as well" said the ecstatic priest after the win.
Lohar, who also ran for the post of president, waited for the proceedings to get over and walked out quietly with his entourage without uttering a word against his opponent.
