After the bomb blasts earlier in Jaipur, Malegaon and now in Ahmedabad using the tiffins, Mumbai's Jevan Dabba Wahatuk Mandal fear their business will be affected. They feel that soon carrying tiffins to 1.75 lakh officegoers to all parts of the city will be extremely difficult as the police are going to be strict while checking them.Dabbas are carried on trains and from there on bicycles. Both trains and cycles have been used to transport terror by militants and the police have declared that they will spare none in the wake of the blasts.
Gangaram Talekar, General Secretary, Mumbai Jevan Dabbe Wahatuk Mandal said, "Though our dabbas are never checked or stopped by the Mumbai police, we feel that they might demand a check soon. Our tiffin service person knows the house from where he brings the tiffin. A person who wants to carry out a blast could hand over the tiffin and leave the house after his mission. At that point a dabbawallah can only show the house from where he bought the tiffin."
