 GETS TOUGH: RR Patil

A day after the visit to Western and Central Railway stations, Deputy Chief Minister RR Patil, suggested closing all the unauthorised entry and exits at railway stations as a security measure. A team of three officers has been appointed to carry out the orders immediately. The team includes a chief security officer, senior engineer and a DCP.

Vasant Koregaonkar, DCP (GRP), Central Railways said, "We have done a survey and blocked many unauthorised entry and exit points. The remaining spots will be blocked soon."

There are approximately 200 such points that commuters use for their convenience.

Apart from this, Patil will also send a letter to the railway minister asking for more RPF and GRP personnel and necessary equipment.
