Two live bombs were found today in residential areas of Surat, creating panic.

While the Bomb Disposal Squad defused one bomb planted in Ladeshwar, efforts were on to deactivate the second bomb in Santoshi Nagar.

The squad defused two bombs on July 27 and 28, while two car bombs found in residential areas were also neutralised.

Large quantities of explosives, shrapnel and timing devices were found in the cars bearing fake number plates.

The police had released a sketch of a suspect, based on a description given by a watchman of a nearby building who had seen the man parking the vehicle.
