London: Kate Middleton, the sweetheart of Prince William, has jetted 6,000 miles out to the Caribbean to meet him, as he steps off his warship after an action-packed stint with the Royal Navy.
 
 
Many friends expect the couple to announce their engagement either late this year or early next year.
 
 
Although the young lovers have been emailing and phoning each other, it will be the first time they will meet since the Prince set sail on HMS Iron Duke five weeks ago.
 
 
Now, with Williams' tour of duty almost at an end, he is planning some rest and relaxation with Kate.
 
 
"Kate has missed him massively. She will be hoping her sailor has a little energy left in the tank for her," a close friend was quoted as saying.
 
 
Media reports have said that Kate has been struggling to find a location for a royal break with the prince.
 
 
According to a report, the prince plans to swap his military uniform for a smart suit, with Williams deciding on a stint in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as a civil servant.
 
 
Apart from taking on a larger role as a senior representative of the Queen, and new charity work, William will learn about government and the judiciary from the New Year.
