A jeweller was robbed of gold worth Rs 11 lakh when he was alighting a local train at CST on Monday afternoon. Vikram Jain (33) was on his way to his shop, Shagun Ornaments, in Mumbadevi from a jewellery shop in Kurla.

"I was standing near the door of the train when it was slowing down to halt at CST around 3 pm. Suddenly, I was pushed from behind and I fell on the platform. That's when someone grabbed my plastic bag, which contained gold weighing 950 gm and my mobile phone, from behind," said Jain.

Cops won't believe

He added, "I looked back, but I saw no one. When I asked the people around, they pointed fingers in different directions. I was stunned for few minutes. Later, I searched for a PCO and informed my brother."

Jain then went to CST police station to file a complaint. But the police did not believe him and took him to the shop in Kurla and also to the spot of crime. Finally, they filed a complaint at 12.30 am. "We are investigating the case and looking for the culprits," said Dilip Mane, senior inspector of CST police station.
