Finally two minor maids from West Bengal lodged complaints about rape at the Maliviya Nagar police station against Rohit and Shyam Lal who run Vaishno Placement Agency at Lado Sarai.
The cases were registered after MiD DAY reported about the pain suffered by girls from Kolkata who came to Delhi to earn their livelihood.
The maids alleged that they were sexually harassed and were not paid for their work. Both of them were taken to a city court from where they were sent to Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC).
Neelima and Reena have complained that they were lured for work and raped by the operator of the placement agency.
After the medical test of both the girls, cases were registered against the placement agency operators on Sunday. Both Neelima and Reena were brought to Delhi by some agents and were introduced to Rohit and Shyam Lal of the Vaishno Placement Agency.
15-year-old Reena said, “I worked in a house at Dwarka for two years but I was not even paid one month’s salary and was also harassed by Rohit and Shyam Lal. They were very rude and used to beat me.”
Similarly, Reena, who is only 12-year-old and used to work in a bungalow at Malviya Nagar, said, "I was working in Malviya Nagar for last one and half a year. I was never paid. I was sexually harassed by Rohit and Shyam who were like a guardian to me." |
