While India's top cricketers are making heads turn with some outstanding performances, they are uncertain what kind of bargain they will draw from the BCCI through the contracts which should have been renewed by now.
According to BCCI insiders, the contracts were delayed because the Board was expecting a few more announcements after Sourav Ganguly announced his retirement from international cricket.
"Once Sourav (Ganguly) announced his retirement, the Board paused to see if there are any more retirements plans," a Board insider told MiD-DAY yesterday. "Now that Anil (Kumble) has also quit and we don't expect any more retirements in the near future, the contracts will be announced before the England ODIs start next week," he added.
