Just a month after Lata Mangeshkar's knee ailment comes to light...

Just a month after melody queen Lata Mangeshkar was practically immobilised by a knee ailment, it has been revealed that her sister Asha Bhonsale is also suffering from a similar ailment.

Asha has been coming to the Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospi-tal here for check ups revealed a senior doctor at the hospital.

"Asha Bhonsale comes here often for check ups. Last Sunday, she had come got her knees checked. She said they had been aching," said Dr Dhananjay Kelkar, medical director of the hospital.

However, her problem is not as acute as Lata's and she has been able to continue travelling extensively for her shows.

Asked whether she would have to undergo a knee surgery, Dr Kelkar said it wouldn't be necessary, adding that her condition is "not as severe as Lata's".

Lata is suffering from osteoarthritis and has been recommended to undergo a knee surgery.

Her ailment became public when her brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar expressed deep concern during a function organised to celebrate her 79th birthday at Balgandharva Rangamandir in Pune on September 29.
