The Shivaji Nagar police have arrested six people, including four women, for allegedly running a prostitution racket on the Unversity of Pune (UoP) Road.
After the cops got a tip off about a sex racket being operative on the said road, they laid a trap to nab them red handed. Ashok Kambale, a sub inspector with the crime branch, posed as customers while his colleague followed him.
And when the girls, who were in a Maruti 800 car (MH 014459), passed lewd gestures to attract him, Kambale, his colleagues arrested the girls along with Anu Kumar Singh and Pravin Pethwadkar, who was driving the car.
The girls were identified as Asaby Shaikh, Madhu Chaurasia, Asha Baby, and Seema Anil Gupta. |
