The Yuvvraaj star is not impressed with Himesh's 'hair-raising' effort to relive Subhash Ghai's thriller Karzz
IT seems music director-cum-singer-cum-actor Himesh Reshammiya has fallen from the grace of his self proclaimed godfather Salman Khan.
In the city to promote his new flick Yuvvraaj, Sallu called Himesh's Karzz a lame effort. Incidentally, the original 1980 classic Karz was directed by Subhash Ghai, the maker of Yuvvraaj.
Bored answering questions about Yuvvraaj, the Bollywood brat almost grabbed the microphone from Ghai when someone mentioned Karzz.
"I am in a better position to answer this question. The film in no way is a tribute. If they had any such intention, they would have made a better film. The remake of 1980, Rishi Kapoor starrer Karz, is not good. It couldn't set the box-office on fire," Salman said.
Even Ghai endorsed Salman's opinion. He said, "I won't say it's a tribute. I have not even seen the film. We gave them the copyright because it was a business matter. Besides, I wanted to see how today's generation tackles a classic."
But once Salman took centrestage, he did not leave much for others to say. Talking about his upcoming movie, he sarcastically said, "No role is hard for any actor. There are only a few actors in the film industry who find a role tough to play and you know whom am I referring to."
When quizzed towards whom did his sarcastic comments were directed, he said with a smile, "Don't you know that? Aap khud hi samajh sakte hai."
When the director of Karzz Satish Kaushik was contacted for a comment, he said, "Abhi main busy hun. Do teen din baad phone kijiye" (I am busy right now. Call me after two-three days).
