Bangalore:

THE NEXT BOSS? Zulfi

Bangalore boy Zulfi Syed's mother's eyes were filled with tears when she saw there was no food in Bigg Boss's house.  But it's not all about tears: After Rahul's eviction, she feels Zulfi Syed has more chances of winning.

"When I saw him struggling for food, I felt very sad. Moreover, he was saying on the show that he hadn't eaten since the previous day. It hurt me a lot. For a minute, I felt that he should return home soon. He should not have escaped from the house. Rules are rules. Since there was no food, hunger would have forced him to jump the wall," said Zulfi's mother Nahida Begum.

The escape

On Saturday night, Zulfi, Rahul Mahajan, Raja Chaudhury and Ashutosh Kaushik scaled the compound wall of the Bigg Boss house and escaped.

They were later brought back to the house and food sent in. They had asked for onions and tomatoes, which were not available and they said that they couldn't cook anything without them. Since Rahul did not apologise to Bigg Boss, he was evicted.

Mama's food

Nahida has now been praying that Zulfi wins the show. "He has lived there throughout the show period. Just one more week is left. I hope he wins. He loves biryani and fried items. He has not got any of these on the show. I will make it when he comes out,' she said.

Zulfi's brother Syed Viquar will attend the grand finale of the show to be held at Mumbai on Saturday.
"I am sure I will meet Zulfi as the winner. He has 99 per cent chances of winning since Rahul has been evicted. Though Zulfi and Raja were nominated, I don't think the nomination will stand any longer since Rahul is evicted," he said.

If he wins the Rs 1 crore prize money, Zulfi plans to use it to help poor people to go on Haj. "He said this on the show. I am sure he will stick to it. He has himself never gone on Haj though," he said.
90 days in the house

Zulfi's brother-in-law Sharyar Khan too feels that Zulfi stands a chance.

"Now, Rahul the chief conspirator is out. The other strong contender is Ashutosh. Zulfi has behaved very well on the show and I feel he will emerge the winner. As for escaping from the house, it was not justified. Discipline should be maintained. Spending 90 days closed in a house is not an easy task," he said.

Viewers' view

Viewers however feel that the inmates were not starved to death. Manju Srivastava, a home-maker, said that there were enough things to cook in the Bigg Boss house.

"I have children of Zulfi's age and would suggest they make khichdi. There was rice, dal, cauliflower and aata.

They were cribbing because only tomatoes and onions were not there. There are many things one can make without the two vegetables. There was no need to run away," she said.
Rhea Fernandes, a BPO employee, suggests rotis.

"We live by ourselves and know perfectly how to manage with little food. They could have simply made rotis and eaten it with jam or butter which might have kept for breakfast. If that wasn't there, they could dip it in tea and eat," she said.
