Mumbai opener Sahil Kukreja's unbeaten 229 against Delhi on the last day of their Ranji Trophy Super League tie at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi may be termed as "meaningless" given that Mumbai had taken the innings lead on the penultimate day itself.
But it was a significant effort and Kukreja, expectedly pleased with his mammoth effort, said Wasim Jaffer's presence at the other end helped him settle in nicely. "I am happy that I came good when the team needed it," he said before boarding a flight back home last night. "Wasimbhai's presence at the other end has always been of immense help."
Kukreja, having donned the India A colours against Australia A and New Zealand A at the start of the season, has had a bit of a turbulent ride so far in the season. |
