 Zulfi has Tipu connection
Here's one more reason why all of Karnataka should be rooting for Zulfi Syed, contender for the Bigg Boss title: He's related to Tipu Sultan.
A Tipu Sultan group has traced Bangalore boy Zulfi's family tree and discovered that he has ties with the erstwhile ruler of Mysore he's a blood relative of Tipu's second wife, Sultana Rukhayya Bhanu Begum. And the person who's taken the trouble to trace Zulfi's family tree is Talakadu Chikkarange Gowda (45), president of Tipu Sultan Prachar Samithi.
Quite obviously, Gowda and the rest of the group has been appealing to people to vote for Zulfi. He's been doing this for the past 10 days and will continue to do so right until tonight when the voting stops.

"It's all for Tipu Sultan," said Gowda, "Zulfi hails from a royal family in Kodagu and happens to be a relative of Tipu Sultan and I'm doing my bit to help him win."
Gowda started the campaign soon after Zulfi emerged as one of the favourites on the show, which will end tomorrow. With Rahul Mahajan's recent exit, Zulfi is one of the three still in the race for the Rs 1-crore prize, the other two being Raja and Ashutosh. Since SMSes will decide the fate of contestants, Gowda is busy appealing to people to vote for Zulfi.
Gowda has also released a press note and distributed pamphlets which describe the voting pattern and list phone numbers to send your vote to. He's also been appealing to people at public meetings where he's called to deliver talks. He has campaigned in Sakleshpur, Chintamani, Kolar, Bangarpet and Mysore so far.
Zulfi's family in Bangalore is supporting Gowda's efforts.
"We welcome his attempt," said Vikhar, Zulfi's brother, "Hence we are helping him out. We too are distributing his pamphlets so that people we know. His appeal will certainly contribute to Zulfi's victory."
