Andrew Symonds finds himself in yet another controversy with the all-rounder being under investigation after a revelation that he was involved in a fight in a Brisbane pub.
According to a report in The Australian, it is learnt that Symonds was hanging out with some of his friends from the Australian rugby team at a popular pub in Brisbane.
The incident occured around 1 am this morning and Symonds is believed to have had an altercation with a member of the public.
The incident has been brought to Cricket Australia's notice and they plan to speak with the burly all-rounder within 24 hours.
Symonds was part of the Australian team that won the first Test against New Zealand. He returned to the team after he was sent home for going fishing before one-day series against Bangladesh instead of attending a team metting. Later, he was dropped from the India tour.
Symonds underwent psychological help during the two-month break from the game and returned knowing he was on his last chance.
Meanwhile, Cricket Australia will investigate the incident. "I'm told he was back at the team hotel by around 9.30 or 10pm (AEST)," CA's public affairs manager Phillip Pope was quoted as saying on the ABC news website.
"It's going to be a process of just finding out a little more detail.
"I sure as the week moves on, we'll be able to understand the events a little clearer."
