British High Commissioner Sir Richard Stagg has, in view of the ongoing terror attack, advised Britons to steer clear of Mumbai.

MiD DAY spoke to Britons Veronica Murphy and Gurpal Singh. The duo spent an hour at Kamat's restaurant, on Wednesday night, after the establishment downed shutters, following firing by fidayeen gunmen at the Leopold's Café, a few metres away.

"The shutters were downed immediately. The staff was extremely courteous. We are definitely coming back to Mumbai," said Murphy, a property dealer.

Singh and Murphy, who are staying at a small hotel at Colaba, leave Mumbai on Friday, but have plans to return soon. "We've been living with terrorism in London, so this is not new," said Singh. The July 7, 2005, London bombings had hit the city's public transport system, killing 52 commuters.
