KILLED: Umar Abdul Khalik

On Wednesday evening, taxi driver Mohammed Umar Abdul Khalik (35), left his Govandi home for work as usual. But he never returned home. Khalik died in the Vile Parle blast.

Memoona Khatoon, Abdul's wife, knew of the blast but had no idea, it was her husband who was killed in it. "I was watching news of the blast on TV and my heart skipped a beat as Abdul would take this route. I tried calling him, but could not get through. I was watching TV all night, just in case I heard news of my husband," she said.

In the morning, her father called up informing about Abdul's  death. "I almost fainted. How do I feed my three children? The youngest  one has not even seen his father properly," said Memoona.

Khatoon's father heard the news from a paan shop in Dongri. "I didn't know how to tell my daughter. It was one of the most difficult things I had to do," said Anees Ahmed.
