There was some success for the police in last one hour at the Oberoi hotel. After continuous firing since morning, the commandos were able to rescue around 20-25 hostages including foreigners. They have not yet been able to get the terrorists at teh Oberoi, Taj and Nariman house.
The commandos had certain exchange of fire rounds with the terrorists, but no success in hunting down on terrorists.
The speedy work to nab the terrorists at the Nariman house is still on, but yet the commandos have not made any success in arresting or killing the terrorists. The major problem has been the hostages, who are still inside the house.
The ITC Group has voluntered to take on board all the guests who have evacuated from the Trident and Oberoi.
A spokesperson from ITC Grand Maratha, Bindu Panicker, told MID DAY that it was only natural on their part to help.
We have done that in the past. And we shall continue doing so.
At the moment, only those from the Oberoi are being brought in, some at the ITC Parel and some to ITC Grand Maratha in Sahar.
The hotel is learnt to have offered the Taj management of the same.
