satire: The fake Sarah Palin page on Facebook. It pokes fun at Palin's foreign policy inexperience, among other things | A spoof Sarah Palin Facebook profile that ribs the US Republican vice-presidential candidate for her Alaskan background, stumbling interview performances and foreign policy inexperience is proving a hit.
The fake page, in which Palin's political beliefs are listed as "None I'm not very political", has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times since emerging on a humour blog last week.
It includes messages from John McCain ("You're a woman, right? Are you busy for the next four years?") and Barack Obama, who thanks her for "all your help" in undermining the Republican White House bid.
Palin's embarrassing performances in a series of TV interviews are also satirised.
Funny status
Palin's rambling answers are parodied in her "status", the section at the top of the page where Facebook users enter what they are currently doing. She writes: "Sarah Palin is shoring up the economy⦠trade⦠not seeing trade as a competitive, scary thing."
And the Facebook groups Palin is shown to have joined including Never Been Out of North America, Evolution Schmevolution and Shoot Stuff In The Face Enthusiasts are also pointed digs at her outlook and attitude. |
