Bangalore police yesterday arrested Govardhan Murthy, who allegedly shot dead Vinod Kumar (32), a realtor and actor, from Kochi in Kerala.

Murthy's close associate Langda Babu was also arrested.

Police had intercepted a telephone conversation between Murthy and his employee. Murthy was trying to get Rs 25 lakh to arrange a fake passport so as to get out of the country.

Based on this tip-off, police inspectors Ratnakar Shetty and Balakrishna went to Kochi and arrested the duo from the Kochi airport.

Murthy, producer of the latest Shivarajkumar movie Madesha, allegedly shot Vinod Kumar with his 7.7 mm pistol twice, killing him on the spot on Monday.
