Paying extra to auto drivers and taxiwallahs to travel betweeThe NCR states on Tuesday signed a Reciprocal n Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida is soon going to be history. Common Transport Agreement (RCTA), facilitating free movement of autos and taxis in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The autos and taxis and other contract carriage vehicles will be given a common colour code and a common logo so that the vehicles can be easily identified at the borders. The colour code and logo will be decided by the constituent states of NCR on a mutual agreement basis.
An official spokesman said the number of auto rickshaws would be restricted on the basis of issue of permits according to the number agreed upon in the agreement between states. The vehicles will be conforming to Euro-III norms and operate on CNG. The new rule will come into effect after all the constituent states of NCR notify the agreement, added the spokesman.
The spokesman further said that the constituent states of NCR are in the process of finalising the common transport agreement for private-public transport vehicles that will be taken up after the implementation of the agreement signed for contract carriage vehicles.
