Thirty-three activists of NCP and Mahatma Phule Samata Parishad were injured, some of them seriously, in a road accident near here today, police said.
The victims, all hailing from neighbouring Dhule district, were heading towards Mumbai in a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus when it collided with a truck near Vadivhare village, they said.
The activists were coming to Mumbai to attend a rally to celebrate the 61st birthday of State PWD Minister and NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal. Mahatma Phule Samata Parishad is a non-political organisation floated by Bhujbal.
The injured were admitted to Nashik Civil Hospital here in North Maharashtra, police added.
