Orissa's raped nun relates tale of horror |

 Tired of governement apathy, a nun who was allegedly raped by Bajrang Dal men in Orissa's Kandhamal district, yesterday narrated her tale of horror before the nation through news channels.
"One of them tore my blouse and the others my undergarments... One of them stepped on my right hand and another on my left and then a third person raped me," the nun said of the August 25 incident, reading from a statement that often made the audience wince in horror.
After the rape, the nun and a priest, who had given her shelter, were made to walk on the road. She alleged that the Orissa Special Armed Police present there, didn't intervene, as the mob beat her and tried to strip away her remaining clothes. She added that the police had initially refused to register a complaint.
The Archbishop of Delhi said the nun had come to Delhi hoping that the SC would reverse its decision against ordering a CBI enquiry into the incident. |
