white lie: Leena Batliwala (name changed) and her husband were attacked outside Black pub in Andheri on Tuesday

Leena Batliwala (24, name changed) did not know what lay in store for her when she decided to celebrate Diwali at an Andheri pub on Tuesday night. The upcoming stage actor was partying with her husband at Black when three men molested her. When she tried to flee, they kicked her and ran away only when she lied that she was pregnant.

Leena told MiD DAY, "My husband and I went to Black and made friends with a model named Yamini (name changed). It was 2.45 am when three men in their late 20s entered the pub with a girl and tried to molest Yamini. One of the guys, who was completely drunk, then tried to molest me, but my husband intervened and handed the guys to the bouncers."

Leena and her husband decided to leave the pub. But the men chased them and beat Leena's husband. "They even punched his eye. One of them even started kicking me. It was only when I lied to them about being pregnant that they fled," explained Leena.

She went to Amboli police chowkie to register a complaint. However, the police only registered a non-cognisable complaint instead of lodging an FIR. Inspector Vijay Kadam told MiD DAY, "We have registered a complaint under sections 323 and 504 for injury and intimidation. We are looking for the accused."

Kumar Shankar, operations manager, Black, said, "We are cooperating with the investigations. We asked the three men to leave the pub after we realised that they were misbehaving with women."
