Many low-lying areas in the city witnessed waterlogging. Pic/anil naik | Heavy rains lashed the city yesterday after a prolonged lull bringing a respite from heat. The rains threw normal life in the city out of gear. Although, the entire day the climate was cloudy and it looked as if it would rain at any point of time, the rains came only in the evening and took people by surprise. Since the rainfall was not continuous there was not much effect on rail and road traffic but many low-lying areas were flooded, including Alpana Talkies and Swargate. There were many cases of trees falling although there have been no reports of any person being injured.
