Ludhiana churches conduct silent rally
By: PTI

Ludhiana:

Churches here today organised a silent rally and peace march against the ongoing attacks on the members of the Christian community in Orissa.

The rally began with a special service at Sarabha Nagar's holy Cross Church, which prayed for peace in the affected areas.

Hundreds of marchers, led by Father Joseph K, marched silently to draw attention to what they described as "distressing" development and express their solidarity and sympathy with the victims.

Later, they handed over a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Sumer Singh Gujjar.

The memorandum urged the Union government to expedite all possible measures so that normalcy is restored in the riot-hit areas.
