Mumbai:

On Thursday, while Mayor Shubha Raul's bungalow in Dadar was abuzz with people from the vicinity queuing to immerse their Ganesh idols in an eco-friendly way, her party colleague, Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi (right), preferred Dadar Chowpatty for visarjan.

Raul has built two ponds in the bungalow for immersion to avoid water pollution. Before Joshi commenced with the visarjan formalities, Raul had told MiD DAY, "Manohar Joshi has a Ganpati at his place. We should ask him to come here. It will be fun." However, she said that she didn't have his number and hence couldn't contact him.

While Joshi was unavailable for comment, his relative said that he was unaware of the ponds in the mayor's bungalow. And since his idol was made of clay, it wouldn't pollute the water at the Chowpatty. Rane Ashish
