Small wonder: Eight-year-old Gurudas Natu has many other accomplishments to his name |
It is said that creativity cannot be attained; you have to be born with it. This seems to be a similar case with eight-year-old Gurudas Natu. Natu, who lives in London, has become the author of a 20-page book titled 'Helpful Bear and Sports Day', which will be published in the city by Shiv Publication.
Big dreams"I want to be a writer and would like to write at least two more books on mystery and adventure," Natu said. He loves reading stories. Natu's father is a software engineer, whereas his mother, Ashivini is a bank employee and a social worker.
"This book comprises modern Panchatantra type of stories, which spread the message of having a helpful and co-operative attitude towards others," said Snehal Tawre, the publisher. "Gurudas writes this book in a unique narrative style and has a good sense of dramatisation," she added.
The book narrates a story of a boy named Guru, who has animal friends like Mike Bear, Tiger, Pigo, Rabo, Eagle and Dony. One day they decide to conduct a car race, but the race gets cancelled due to rains. On the next day when the race takes place everybody's car faces some or the other problem, except for Mike Bear's car. Mike Bear then carries all the others in his car and also wins the race.
Ashivini, Gurudas's mother said, "Gurudas narrated the story to my husband and me and then we wrote it down for him. When we presented the script to Tawre, she liked it and our son's dreams came true."
Gurudas started with his schooling from Pune's Symbiosis School four years back. He is now a fourth standard student at the Belmont Middle School, London.
Bright child
According to Ashivini, at the age of five Gurudas was awarded a trophy by Chinmay International Mission for reciting a part of the Bhagwad Geeta by heart. "When he was six-years-old he won a gold medal in Mathematics," she added. "Gurudas has gifted qualities, which we would like to share with all. We are uploading his achievements on the Internet next week," Ashwini said.
