Safe BET? The robot that can defuse bombs can be a boon to police and defence establishments |
In addition to the robot, Narasimharaju has come out with five other innovations, all of which are awaiting a patent.
These include a two-bar flexible spring frame bicycle, which he has already patented, a rotimaker, shock absorber, top opening car door and other products. All these are also awaiting patent.
Narasimharaju's products fall under two categories - those he has independently invented and those he has modified.
The four-and-a-half feet remote-controlled bomb-diffusing robot is among his modified innovations. He designed the unique robot at a cost of Rs 1 lakh.
Different
The robot is different from other robots, as it has movable arms without a DC motor fitted at the joints. It is a first of its kind robot, as the controlling setup is below the body.
It has a rotating neck and a combat gun installed overhead that can rotate 360 degree around and 180 degrees up and down. It also has wheels that make it movable.
This robot, operated by electric battery, weighs 50 kg and is made of aluminium and ms material. It not only performs according to commands, but can also lift weights of upto 5 kg and is specially designed to diffuse bombs.
It presently operates at 20 ft distance from remote, but will be enhanced to 30 meters by installing radio frequency.
"This is a multi-purpose robot with unique features. It can be mainly used for defence purposes and I plan to submit a proposal as soon as I receive a patent," said Narsimharaju.
Besides this, a two bar flexible spring framed bicycle, has been awarded a patent. There is no third rigid bar as in conventional bicycles, but the cost remains the same. It costs around Rs 2 500.
The other products - rotimaker, shock absorber and a top opening door for cars - are awaiting a patent.
"I applied for a patent for the bicycle two years ago and have just received it," said Narasimharaju, "but other products are yet to get the patent."
To hit market
These products, said to be of cheaper costs, will soon hit the market. The bicycle that's complete in form will be produced in the market as soon as talks in this regard with private companies are finalised.
"I have had talks with some companies. I will produce bicycles that avoid back pain, alongwith any of the companies. Installation of robots in defence and police services will be finalised after my talks with them shortly," said Narasimharaju.
