Malhotra leaves Vora in deep sea

By: A Correspondent

 TOO EASY: Vikram Malhotra

Top seed and under-19 National champion Vikram Malhotra was in rampaging form as he blanked second seed Sahil Vora to lift the men's singles title in the Minute Maid Pulpy Orange Squash Classic 2008, which concluded at the Gold's Gym yesterday.

Malhotra was in total control against Vora, his speed and power play brooking no opposition from the senior rival, who has been playing collegiate squash in the US. Malhotra prevailed 11-9, 11-7, 11-6 in just 35 minutes. Malhotra won Rs 7,500  while Vora was richer by Rs 4,000.

The handicap doubles title was lifted by Kunwarpal Singh and Nitin Chauhan of Jindal, who defeated their clubmates Sunil Varma and Laxman Joshi 15-14, 15-13.
