By: PTI

Aizawl:

Thousands of Christians today held mass prayer and "solidarity procession" in Aizawl for fellow Christians who are being persecuted in Orissa and Karnataka, allegedly by majority community.

A two-and-a-half-hour mass prayer was held at a playground in MacDonald Hill, a place where Christian missionaries began their mission in Mizoram. The congregation then went in a rally towards the centre of Aizawl city upto the Salvation Army Temple.

The mass prayer and procession was organised by "Orissa Ringtute Tuarpuitu" formed by former speaker of the state assembly Rokamlova, who is a Presbyterian church elder.

The provessionists not only prayed for the persecuted Christians, but also for the persecutors, Rokamlova said.
