A letter threatening to blow up the Jaipur Stock Exchange (JSE) building here today created panic, which turned out be a hoax, a senior police official said.
After the receipt of the letter, the agents and subscribers of the JSE were asked to stay away from the premises and a bomb disposal squad, sniffer dogs and intelligence officials were pressed into action, Superintendent of Police Mohan Singh said.
3 hours of search operation of the exchange located at the Malviya Nagar railway over bridge did not lead to any hidden object, Singh said, adding it was probably a hoax letter.
Sender's name was Arun who claimed to be a CBI advisor, the SP said.
Forensic Science Experts have been examining the letter's content and consulting the writing experts, he said.
Work resumed in the exchange later, he added.
