Her brother and noted music director Hridaynath Mangeshkar said that she sung a song before the disciples of her legendary father Dinanath Mangeshkar at Sangli.
She has been singing for over 65 years, it is a record in itself. "At 80, she had recently recorded a song on Saibaba and they are all fabulous," sister Usha Mangeshkar said during a seminar Didi Ani Me organised to pay tribute to the singer.
The event organised by Shirish Rairikar and held at Balgandharv Rangamandir witnessed the presence of Mukund Phansalkar, Sadhana Sargam, Nobina Mirjankar, Aparna Mategaonkar sung Lata's song on the occasion of her 80th birthday.
Describing Lata's magic, Hridaynath said her voice was a special gift from her father. "It is sad that my father is not alive to see her progress. I believe, that everything is going as per the wish of my late father," he said. |
