Bangalore:

The cabinet meeting held on Friday
decided to table the Esma (Essential Service Commodities Maintenance) Bill in the upcoming special assembly session to held in January 15.

This is because of the fact that the government couldn't promulgate the ordinance in this regard as the session dates were already announced.

To manage the scarcity of essential commodities as a result of the trucks strike, the government has empowered the district administrative heads and SPs of each district under the National Security Act to punish or to take stringent action against trucks if they hamper the services.

Petrol pumps have been asked to give priority to vehicles carrying essential commodities and ambulances.

Revenue site

The cabinet has lifted the ban on registration of revenue sites. Whoever has purchased the sites before June 2008 can get their revenue sites registered by paying registration duty within six months from now onwards.
