PIC/MID DAY | Days after a Delhi University student was allegedly kidnapped and found abandoned at Loni in Noida, the police on Wednesday said she was raped. According to the police, eight people were arrested in connection with the case.
The accused identified as Rakesh, Kamal, Kapil and Mintoo were held from Noida, while the other four Rohit, Amit, Vijay and Pappi were nabbed from Greater Noida after the police got a tip from the Delhi Police about their involvement in the abduction of the 18-year-old student.
Earlier, the Delhi police arrested four people, who had confessed to have kidnapped the girl from Sector 55 of Noida on January 4 and abandoned in Loni.
SSP Naveen Arora said that the girl was raped.
Two mobile phones, Rs 1.43 lakh, seven countrymade pistols and live cartridges were also recovered from them, he added.
