Pratik Jadhav's knock of 110 from 105 deliveries and right-arm medium pace bowler Nikhil Jadhav's haul of 3-9 enabled their schools Sau A K Joshi English Medium (Thane) and Parle Tilak Marathi respectively record comfortable victories in the first round of the boys under-16 Boost Cricket Cup tournament at the Cross Maidan yesterday.
Winning the toss, I E S Raja Shivaji Vidyamandir elected to bat and skipper Akshay Parab's unbeaten 53 (5x4s) and Yuvraj Shinde's 50 (7x4s) runs helped them reach 293 runs in 45 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Chasing a daunting target, Pratik Jadhav played an excellent knock to help his team register a comfortable win.
Pratik got good support from teammates Nachiket Khatu and Gangadhar Suryavanshi, who scored unbeaten knocks of 79 and 40 respectively.
In an other match, Parle Tilak Marathi defeated Sir J J Boys (Fort) by 124 runs.
