Brit Ben Southall got the name of the island wrong in his blog on Day 2
Ben Southall, the Briton who fought off competition from tens of thousands of rivals to win The Best Job in the World, has had an inauspicious start to his new job by getting the name of the island wrong.

oops! Ben Southall | Southall, who outsmarted his opponents to become caretaker of an island on the Great Barrier Reef for six months, made the unfortunate gaffe while trying to promote the delights of his temporary home. In a posting on Twitter, Southall misspelt the name of one of the islands that it is his job to promote to the world. On his second day at work on Hayman Island, he mentioned "leaving the chefs table and chocolate room on Hayward Island after a stunning gastronomic presentation". The mistake was corrected after an hour, but the damage was done after several bloggers spotted his mistake. |
