By: Anushree Pardeshi

One of the youngsters arrested on Thursday night from Lonavla has been identified as Anshal Dhiren Thakkar, the son of a Walkeshwar builder.

Thakkar and 28 others were arrested for possessing and consuming liquor without a licence and also for playing loud music without permission.

According to B Lanjile, senior inspector of Lonavala police station, nine litres of foreign liquor worth Rs 5,700 was seized.

When MiD DAY called Thakkar's home to speak with his parents, a maidservant at his Sankalp building home said, "They are yet to come back from Lonavla. I don't know when they will be back."

A Lonavla police officer revealed that Thakkar was found dancing obscenely in the garden of the bungalow at Ryewood Park.

"We caught Thakkar while he was dancing obscenely with a group of boys and few girls in the garden.

All of them were drunk. The incident came to light only after we got a complaint from a neighbour," he said.

The 19 boys and 10 girls, most of who were from Mumbai, were released on bail yesterday morning.
