NGO busts flesh trade racket in Pune

The Pune Social service branch, rescued five girls including three minors, brought in for the flesh trade from West Bengal and Bangladesh.

Shyam Kamble of the Freedom firm, an NGO, got a tip from West Bengal that five women were being brought to Pune by Howrah mail and were suppose to be sold to a brothel in the city. The police arrested the pimp who was transporting the girls and also Gauri Tamang, the brothel owner from Budhwar Peth, in Pune.
 
"We informed the police in the night and with their help we caught the pimp and rescued the girls at 6.50 am the moment the train reached Pune station," said Kamble.
